Dr Chahal takes over as GNDU Director Research

Amritsar, Jan 31 (UNI) Eminent Plant Pathologist, Dr. S.S. Chahal, former Dean of Post-Graduate Studies of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana has taken over as Director Research of the Guru Nanak Dev University here today.

Widely travelled, Dr. Chahal had more than 30 years research, teaching and administrative experience. As many as 112 of his research papers have been published in journals of national and international repute.

He has 14 books, monographs, bulletins and manuals to his credit.

He has participated in more than 55 national and international conferences and presented his research papers.

During his stay at PAU, he held a number of prestigious assignments and superannuated as Dean Post-Graduate Studies at PAU.

Recognised as meritorious teacher and researcher of PAU, he is recipient of five prestigious national awards and has a distinction of being member, fellow and president of several professional societies.
