Council Chairman condoles death of Ballal
Bangalore, Jan 31(UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandrashekar today condoling the death of wellknown Kannada writer Vyasaray Ballal, said that he had given a new trend to Kannada literature through his powerful writings over the past many decades.
Prof Chandrashekar, in his message, said that Ballal was known for novel Bandya, which deals with trade union activities in Mumbai.
He said in his death the state had lost a gifted writer.
Ballal, recipient of Kendriya Akademi Award passed away last night in the city. He was 86. The funeral will be held later in the day.
