Congress will try to avoid early LS polls : Dwivedi
Jaipur, Jan 31 (UNI) AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi today said his party would try to avoid early Lok Sabha election by maintaining a balance among ruling UPA allies at the Centre.
Talking to reporters here Mr Dwivedi said, ''Congress has been heading a coalition goverment at the Centre and successfully striking a balance among the coalition partners to ensure stability in the government. The party will try to do so for the remaining one year of the current term of the UPA Government.'' He said organisational preparations for the polls were already in place as the party has been facing assembly election in one or the other state almost every year.
The Congress was not scared of any party, including the BJP as it was still going strong among masses even at the grassroots in the country, the General Secretary said.
In town on a private visit, Mr Dwivedi held informal interaction with the party state functionaries and mediapersons at the Congress state headquarters.
