Tarantino almost missed a party thrown in his honour

New York, Jan 30 : Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino was on the verge of missing a party thrown in his honour at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah when his car broke down on the way to the venue.

The 'Pulp Fiction' director was heading to the Ray Ban Visionary Awards when he got stuck on the side of a winding mountain road along with 'Grey's Anatomy' star Sandra Oh, reports the New York Post.

However, the situation was tackled when Tarantino's assistant went to the nearby Yarrow Hotel and found an eager fan who offered to drive the pair to the ceremony.

The group arrived just in time to walk the red carpet and rushed inside.
