SECR replies in molestation case
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Jan 30 (UNI) The South-East Central Railway has submitted its reply in the Chhattisgarh High Court in a case relating to molestation of a foreigner by an assistant sub-inspector on the Gitanjali Express.
The bench was informed yesterday that a departmental inquiry was underway against Travel Ticket Examiner A L Madavi on whom a heavy fine was imposed for dereliction of duty.
In its reply, the state government said that accused Umendra Mishra was sacked in connection with another criminal case. Earlier, the government demoted him for a year. On petitioner organisations' lawyer Meena Shastri urging the court to award severe punishment, the bench had told the government to reconsider.
February 11 was set as the date for final arguments.

Co-passengers caught the accused and handed him over to Government Railway Police at Raipur.
