MP Govt removes Health Director

Bhopal, Jan 30 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today removed Health Director Ashok Sharma from his post, Official sources said that as per the orders issued by the government, Mr Sharma has been posted at Kamla Nehru hospital in the state capital.

No one has been appointed in the place of Mr Sharma thus far. It was being believed that the step was taken due to alleged irregularities in the health department.

Mr Sharma had been appointed in the place of Dr Yogiraj Sharma, who was removed from his post following assets worth crore of rupees disproportionate to his known sources being unearthed in an Income-Tax raid.

Later, Dr Sharma was given compulsory retirement. The former Health Director has challenged the decision before the High Court.

Recently, Principal Secretary (Health) M M Upadhyay had been posted in the same capacity in the School Education department.
