'Live' bullets recovered in Reasi encounter
Jammu, Jan 30 (UNI) Security forces recovered live bullets after a fierce gun-battle with the militants, who managed to escape in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.
They said acting on a tip-off, police and 182 Battalion of BSF launched a search operation in Challad village, in Reasi district yesterday night.
''The search party was fired upon by the militants, which was retaliated by the security forces and the battle continued for more than two hours,'' the sources told UNI adding that the militants managed to escape from the spot.
The security forces recovered 611 live bullets including 324 rounds of AK series, 247 rounds of SLR and 40 rounds of Pika gun.
One transistor, one binocular was also recovered from the spot, they added.
