LIC Kozhikode divn records 87 per cent growth
Kozhikode, Jan 30 (UNI) Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Kozhikode Division has collected a total business of Rs 472 crore registering 87 per cent growth in premium and 29 per cent in policies, a senior official today said.
The record performance was achieved under 3,17,254 policies till date, two months ahead of schedule, maintaining second position out of 105 division at all India leavel, Senior Divisional Manager R Sreenivasan told reporters here.
The Ernakulam division continued to maintain first position at the national level, he said.
As many as 13 branches of the division, spread across five districts of Malabar region crossed the target in premium, he said.
Aimed at covering hospital treatment and major surgical expenses of the clients, the division proposed to launch 'Health Plus', a unique and new scheme on February 4, he said.
An amount of Rs 2,500 per day for hospitalisation and upto Rs five lakh for major surgical expenses can be reimbursed under the scheme, he said.
All members of a family can be covered for a total benefit of more than Rs 50 lakh in life time at a nominal premium of Rs ten per day, he said.
Added attraction of the scheme was that it ensured reimbursement based on the cover opted irrespective of the amount spent on treatment and eligible for tax benefit under section 80D upto Rs 15,000, he added.
