Karnataka pays tribute to Mahatma
Bangalore, Jan 30 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur led the state in paying homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his martydom by offering floral tributes Vidhana Soudha, here today.
Senior police officials and the three Advisors to Governor also joined the Governor in paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, who was gunned down on this day in 1948 after coming out from Birla House after morning prayers.
The anniversary of Mahatama's martydom was also observed by Congress leaders. KPCC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, former Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh and other who offered floral tributes at KPCC office and observed two-minutes of silence.
