Indian film stars may now dance in French locations

Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) Bollywood filmmakers may soon be heading to France for their foreign location shoots as the Ile de France Commission has offered Indian filmmakers a host of incentives from exotic locations to trained professionals.

The Ile de France Commission, which facilitates filming and co-production in France with foreign producers, presented a number of showreels and resumes of French production houses, including production crew, special effect producers and location facilitators, here yesterday.

''The USP of France is that it has an universal appeal. We work with Hollywood producers and from all over the world and try to get the best locales for producers to enable them to shoot fast and economically. For example, in Paris one can shoot for free anywhere, except in museums and heritage sites which can bring the costs down,'' Ile de France Commission ED Olivier Rene Veillon said.

He informed that contacting French production houses for locations, special effects or co-production was easy through the French attache in New Delhi or Mumbai or the Commission's website.

''The move is definitely a positive one, and will not be very expensive for Indian producers. There are many beautiful monuments and landscapes in France that are yet to be exploited,'' filmmaker Govind Nilhani told UNI.
