Five children escape from Juvenile home
New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) Five children of a Juvenile home escaped from their rehabilitation centre in Mukherjee Nagar in North-West Delhi early morning today.
The children of 'Seva Kutir Child Observation Home', aged between 16-18 years, fled the Mukherjee Nagar remand home at about 0630 hrs under the cover of dark, the police said.
However, no case has been regsitered as the Magistrate has yet to issue directions in this regard, police said, adding that the Magistrate issues directions only after the police sends it a detailed report on incidents related to children of remand homes.
Investigations on how the children escaped and whether anyone from inside was inolved into the episode were being conducted, after which the report to the Magistrate would be sent, they added.
The Observation home functions under the Delhi Government's Welfare Department.
