Ferrous metals rise further
Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) Ferrous metals rose further on increase in fresh demand in Kolkata and Delhi today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In the ferrous metal category, Copper utensils shot up by Rs 300 per quintal on reduced stock supply. Brass utensils and Aluminium utensils also advanced by Rs 100 per quintal each due to heavy demand from retailers.
Brass cuttings fell by Rs 100 per quintal on absence of demand.
However, Copper heavy remained unchanged.
In the non-ferrous metal category, Zinc slab rose by Rs 100 per quintal on improved demand. Tin slab also improved by Rs 10 per kg.
However, Copper wire bars, Aluminium ingot, Lead ingot and Nickel cathode remained steady on moderate demand, traders added.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 33,700, copper utensils - Rs 31,600, brass utensils - Rs 24,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,400 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,500 per kg.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 37,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 12,000, zinc slab - Rs 12,300, lead ingots - Rs 11,500, tin slab - Rs 785 and nickel cathode - Rs 1,385 per kg.
