Export of poultry products from WB banned

Raipur, Jan 30 (UNI) Chhattisgarh has banned export of poultry products including chicken, eggs and related food products from West Bengal and neighbouring states in view of bird flu being detected in Murshidabad, Ladia and Vardhman districts of West Bengal.

Director (Veterinary) B P S Netam said veterinary department officials in every district had been directed to keep an eye over poultry being reared by villagers and at other places. Unnatural death of birds should be reported to veterinary doctors of the department.

Besides, directions had been issued to district disease research laboratories to collect samples from poultry areas and send it regularly to laboratory in Raipur. Poultry areas had been asked to maintain safety measures.

Control rooms had been set up in every district so that immediate steps could be taken if bird flu was detected.
