Dowry harassment; Software engineer held

Visakhapatnam, Jan 30: A software engineer from Hyderabad, was arrested by the city police today on the charge of dowry harassment.

According to police, B Srinivas Rao (35), allegedly used to beat his wife Lakshmi Aparna and harassed her regularly, demanding more dowry.

The parents of the girl had given a cash of Rs 4 lakh besides gold and silver articles at the time of marriage in August last year.

Unable to bear the torture, she returned to her parents house.

On a complaint from the woman, Srinivas was arrested, police added.
