Churu freezes with 0.8 degrees C in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Jan 30 (UNI) As the prolonged cold wave, sweeping most parts of Rajasthan, continued unabated during the past 24 hours, the desert town of Churu again turned out to be the coldest place in the state with 0.8 degrees Celsius.
The night temperatures which recorded a marginal rise at a few places during the past two days again showed a decline ranging between two to four degrees, said the Met office spokesman here.
Churu, where the minimum temperature was 3.5 degrees C yesterday, the mercury fell by 2.7 degrees to touch the mark of 0.8 degrees C this morning.
Besides Churu, people in Sriganganagar and Pilani also shivered at 1.8 and 3.3 degrees C respectively.
The state capital of Jaipur also recorded a sudden fall of four degrees with night temperature plummeting to 4.2 degrees C from overnight mark of 8.2 degrees C.
Elsewhere in the state, Bikaner recorded minimum temperature of 6.5, Ajmer 6.7, Jodhpur 7.2, Jaisalmer 7.8 and Udaipur(Dabok Airport) recorded 8.6 degrees C.
Meanwhile, light rains were reported from a few places including Jaipur, Ajmer and Alwar during the past 24 hours.
