CBI inspector caught red-handed taking bribe

Patna, Jan 30: CBI sleuths from Delhi arrested Pravin Kumar, an inspector of the premier investigating agency, while taking bribe from an UCO bank officer in the state capital. CBI sources said here today the team arrived, following a complaint by the banker and caught Pravin Kumar red-handed, while accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from the bank officer at Marwari Awas under Kotwali police station area here last night.

The arrested officer was being interrogated by the CBI team. The sources said that Pravin Kumar had demanded the bribe from the officer for shielding him in a corruption case. After the preliminary interrogation, the arrested inspector would be produced before the court concerned, informed the sources.
