Amway India achieves Rs 800 crore turnover in fiscal year 2007
Chennai, Jan 30 (UNI) Amway India Enterprises, the country's leading FMCG company in the direct sales channel, today announced that it has achieved a turnover of Rs 800 crore in the fiscal year 2007, recording a nine per cent growth over the previous fiscal.
In terms of product category performance in 2007 nutrition and wellness contributed over 55 per cent to the overall business, a company release here said.
In 2008, the company was targeting an overall growth rate of 20 per cent and turnover of Rs 950 crore.
The year would also see Amway, celebrating its golden jubilee of successfully doing business globally in 88 countries and territories, and simultaneously its 10th year of commencement of commercial operations in India, the release added.
Outlining
the
plans
for
2008,
company
CEO
and
MD
Pinckney
said,
''this
fiscal
will
see
us
come
up
with
a
new
aggressive
strategy
for
the
burgeoning
semi-urban
markets.
Our
plan
is
to
expand
the
product
basket
keeping
in
mind
this
section
of
the
market,
which
is
still
predominantly
a
price
sensitive
market.''

will
be
sprucing
up
our
infrastructure
and
add
100
more
Amway
touch
points,
predominantly
in
tier
two
and
tier
three
cities.
We
are
confident
that
all
these
initiatives
will
drive
growth
and
help
us
achieve
our
