73,000 CFLs and 69,000 T-5 tubeslights installed
Chandigarh, Jan 30 (UNI) Haryana Renewable Energy Department has so far installed over 73,000 Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and 69,000 energy efficient T-5 tube lights in the State.
Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that this replacement of traditional energy-guzzling lamps has been achieved at an approximate cost of Rs 304 lakh and it will result in the saving of Rs six crore in the electricity bills annually.
With the installation of these CFLs and energy efficient T-5 tube lights, the saving in electricity work out to be 15.3 million units which was equivalent to 2.5 MW and consequent carbon reduction of 15,300 tonces annually.
It will help in reducing the overloading and frequency of power cuts, he added.
