2 Nigerians acquitted in narcotics case
New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) Additional Sessions Judge Babulal today acquitted two Nigerian nationals from charges of dealing in Narcotic substances.
Kiyode Qsatyui and Gabrial were caught by the special cell of Delhi Police on January 21, 2004 near Chanakya cinema with one kg drugs each.
During the trial the prosecution could not prove its case and the witnesses produced by the prosecution were found to be untrustworthy, said Judge Babulal.
The court also found that Delhi police team had tampered with the official record to prove the accused guilty.
The court also directed the Commissioner of police to take serious note of conduct of the police officials involved in the case. It found that the investigation was not properly conducted.
The court also directed the commissioner of police to entrust cases related to NDPS Act to officials with high integrity.
