TTD to build 4 modern marriage halls

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 29 (UNI) To meet the pilgrims demand, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) Trust Board today resolved to construct four modern Kalyanamandapams near Alipiri in the temple town.

Addressing the press after a board meeting, TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said the marriage halls will be high-tech and air-conditioned. The seating capacity of the existing halls will also be increased.

The Board also decided to re-construct the 100-year-old Pedda Jeer Mutt here, which was in dilapidated condition, at an estimated cost of Rs 3.25 crore.

Mr Reddy said it was also decided to re-construct and modernise the TTD Printing Press in Tirupati where lakhs of spiritual books were printed and distributed to the visiting pilgrims. It will cost Rs five crore.

It also resolved to renovate the Ambedkar building at an estimated cost of Rs nine lakh.
