New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) Delhi will host a three-day international Horticulture expo from January 31, it was announced today.
The main focus of the six-in-one international expo, billed to be South Asia's largest, is to bridge the gap between producers, retailers and exporters, Media Today chief coordinator S Jafar Naqvi said at a news conference here.
It will also promote contract and corporate farming of fruit and vegetables in the country for export and simultaneously boost demand in the domestic market, he added.
The Horticulture expo, to be organised by Media Today group and supported by the Ministries of Agriculture, Food Processing Industries and Health and Family Welfare, will provide a platform for stakeholders, retailers, decision makers from the Central and the state governments, corporate, progressive farmers, self-help groups, NGOs, processors, importers and exporters.
Mr Jafar said the expo was designed to project India as a super power in the horticulture sector.
