Suzlon Q3 net profit at Rs 338.18 crore

New Delhi, Jan 29: Country's largest wind-turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd (SEL) today said its net profit registered a hike to Rs 338.18 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as against Rs 176.23 crore for the same period a year ago.

Total income also increased to Rs 1,683.16 crore for Q3 FY 2007-08 where as the same was at Rs 1,126.07 crore for the same quarter a year ago.
The Group's net profit has declined to Rs 151.69 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as against Rs 174.39 crore for the same period a year ago. Total income for the Group, however, increased to Rs 3242.29 crore for Q3 FY2007-08 from Rs 1939.29 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

The company's orderbook stood at Rs 17,107.41 crores, comprising of Rs 2,404.67 crore of domestic orders and Rs 14,702.74 crores of export orders as on January 25, 2008, the company said in a statement.

Suzlon owns manufacturing facilities for components like rotor blades, generators, control systems and towers in the country.
