Sugar prices ease on lack of demand
Navi Mumbai, Jan 29 (UNI) Sugar prices eased on lack of demand in the wholesale spot sugar market today, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Sugar prices in small grade remained unchanged on moderate demand, while medium grade declined slightly by Re 1 per quintal on poor buying support.
Sugar prices in ex-mill small grade remained flat, while medium grade fell by Rs 20 per quintal due to sustained heavy selling pressure, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,410/1,481, Medium grade: Rs 1,475/1,546.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,400/1,440 and Medium grade: Rs 1,450/1,500.
