SRTC employees are not paid salaries

Srinagar, Jan 29: The employees of the Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) have not been paid their salaries for the past four months.

A deputation of SRTC employees union during their meeting with Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, advisor to Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, said their wages for the past four months had been withheld. They demanded the immediate release of their dues and transfer of Managing Director of the SRTC.

The other deputation from different parts of the valley alleged that their areas were facing a shortage of water, kerosene oil, gas and electricity.

A deputation from Gujjar Basti, Bandipora in north Kashmir demanded laying of power supply lines, while deputation from Pahalgam demanded essential commodities, including gas, kerosene oil and timber supply to their areas.
