Seminar to spread awareness about RTI Act
Chandigarh, Jan 29 (UNI) The Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department, Haryana, K.K. Khandelwal today inaugurated the two-day seminar here today.
The seminar is being organized by Haryana State Cooperative Development Federation (Harcofed) at Regional Cooperative Institute of Management with an aim to create awareness among senior officers of Haryana Cooperative Department about the Right to Information Act, 2005 and about various provisions of Haryana Cooperative Societies Act 1984.
While speaking during the seminar, Mr. Khandelwal said that after acquainting themselves with the Act, the senior officers would be able to provide desired facilities or information to the people without any delay.
Presiding over the seminar, Registrar, Cooperative Societies Haryana, Mr. R. R. Jowel said that Mr. Khandelwal had written a book on Right to Information Act 2005 keeping in mind the necessities of the common man which had proved a great help in knowing details about the Right to Information Act. He said that an amount of Rs. two lakh would be provided per year to the Harcofed for imparting training about the Right to Information Act by the Cooperative Department.
Mr. Jowel said that Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary Cooperation Department, Mr. Manik Sonawane would address the officers on the concluding day of the seminar on January 30.
Dr. J.P. Panjeta Additional Registrar, Mr. Rattan Singh, Managing Director Harco Bank, Mr. J.S. Sheoran, Managing Director Housefed, Mr. J.S. Sheokand, Chief Auditor, Mr. C.M. Singal, Managing Director Harcofed, all the Deputy and Assistant Registrars of Coopertive Department and all Managing Directors of Central Cooperative Apex Banks were also present on the occasion.
