Police driver runs over truck driver

Gaya, Jan 29 (UNI) A truck driver was run over by a police driver on Grand Trunk road near Suryamandal check post under Barachhati police station area in this district today.

Official sources said here that the victim had gone to attend natures call leaving the loaded truck near the check post. Sources said spotting the truck, police driver Ramjee Singh demanded bribe from the cleaner on the pretext that the vehicle was overloaded and finally drove it to the check post.

As soon as Ramjee started the truck, driver Sannu Khan tried to stop him and stood in front of the truck. Ramjee, however, drove the vehicle and crushed Sannu to death.

The truck was on way to Malda in West Bengal from Uttar Pradesh.

An FIR had been lodged at Barachhati police station and Ramjee Singh arrested.
