PDP dismayed over BJP's demand of scrapping Article 370 in J
Jammu, Jan 29 (UNI) People's Democratic Party today expressed dismay over BJP president Rajnath Singh's demand of scrapping Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
''The BJP leader in such inattentive pronouncements was undermining the very reconciliation process pioneered by the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and carried forward by his successor Dr Manmohan Singh,'' PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said. ''Instead of playing politics with the peace process, the BJP leaders must fully support the UPA government's Kashmir initiatives as was done by the Congress when the NDA government initiated the process,'' Mr Mufti said.
The PDP patron has said his party would continue to initiate and facilitate all reasonable measures, consistent with its policies, to ensure its vision of a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
''Everyone of you will have a critical role to play in the challenge that is going to unfold on the state's political scene in near future,'' he told party cadre.
