Minister denies reports on LTTE infiltration into Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 29 (UNI) Denying reports that LTTE supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran has sneaked into the State, Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said the coastal police have been alerted on the basis of such reports.
''We have not received any information regarding the presence of Prabhakaran and LTTE anywhere in the State. We are looking at the reports,'' he told mediapersons here.
The government did not get any official report on the LTTE's presence in the State, Mr Balakrishnan said and added that based on media reports the police stations in the coastal belt have been alerted.
''Every movement is being watched,'' he said, and added that the Centre had allotted eight more coastal police stations to protect the coastal belt from infiltration.
There were reports that Prabhakaran and some of his cadres might have sneaked into Kerala or Tamil Nadu after Sri Lanka launched massive air strikes in LTTE controlled regions.
