Japan provides food aid to Nepal
Kathmandu, Jan 29 (UNI) The Japanese Government has agreed to extend a grant assistance of four hundred million Yen (Rs. 234,400,000) to its Nepalese counterpart as Food Aid.
Japanese Ambassador Tatsuo Misuno and Secretary at Ministry of Finance, Vidyadhar Mallik, signed and exchanged the notes today on behalf of their respective governments according to the Japanese embassy in Kathmandu.
Japan has been providing food aid to Nepal for the last few years, and last year it had extended food aid amounting to 84,0593 metric tonne of rice and 24 thousand 300 metric tonne of wheat.
On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador Misuno expressed his wish that the food aid would assist the efforts by the Nepal Government to ease the difficulties faced by the people in the food-deficit areas.
Secretary Mallik appreciated the aid extended by Japan Government in different sectors.
