HP to soon publish Draft Electoral Rolls
Shimla, Jan 29 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda today said the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls in respect of 65 non tribal assembly constituencies considering January 1, 2008 as qualifying date would be undertaken soon in the state.
She said that draft electoral rolls in respect of these assembly constituencies would be published on February 18 and would be kept for free public inspection from February 18 to March 3 in all the polling stations, in the offices of concerned ADM, SDM, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildars.
Ms Nanda further said that these electoral rolls would also be read out in the meetings of Gram Sabhas and local bodies scheduled to be held on February 21 and added that, if any, claim or objection could also be filed on the occasion.
These electoral rolls would also be available on official website for public inspection, she said.
She further said that for the convenience of electors special campaign would also be launched on February 24 and March 2 in all the polling stations. On April 9 the electoral rolls would finally be published, she added UNI XC PS VN1718
