Hearing on Naxal leader's arrest postponed
Hyderabad, Jan 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission (APHRC) Chairman Justice B Subhashan Reddy today adjourned till February 7 the hearing on the arrest of State CPI (Maoist) Secretary Sambashivudu.
Based on a petition filed by the parents of the Naxal leader, the APHRC Chairman asked Director General of Police (DGP) S S P Yadav to submit a report on Sambashivudu arrest recently.
The counsel for the police had informed that Sambashivudu was not in police custody and submitted a report to the Commission.
The parents of the Naxal leader and civil rights organisations had claimed the police had arrested Sambashivudu and demanded that the police produce him before the court immediately.
