GE Shipping Q3 net up 77 per cent

New Delhi, Jan 29: Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd (GESCL) today said its net profit registered a hike of 77 per cent at Rs 293.57 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 165.85 crore for the same period a year ago. Total income also increased 43.17 per cent to Rs 744.28 crore for Q3 FY2007-08 from Rs 519.85 crore for the same quarter a year ago. The company has also declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per share to the shareholders.
