2 member Dacoit gang arrested in MP

Satna(MP), Jan 29: Two members of a dacoit gang, which kidnapped two contractors working in Bansagar canal project in Sidhi district, have been arrested from Nayagaon area in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district.

Dacoits Chandra Pratap Singh Patel and Ajay Singh, both residents of Allahabad district, UP and carrying rewards of Rs ten thousand and Rs five thousand respectively, were caught yesterday after a brief encounter, Rewa range Deputy Inspector General of Police Gajiram Meena said.

The dacoit gang kidnapped contractors Yogendra Pande and Abhayraj Patel on December 22 and sought ransom of Rs 2 crore for their release. Both were, however, freed by the police on January 4.
