CPI opposes increase in land registration charges
Hyderabad, Jan 29 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today opposed the Andhra Pradesh government's decision to increase the charges for land registrations from ten to 30 per cent in the capital city and other major towns in the state from February 1.
According to a press release here, CPI State Secretary K Narayana said the increase of land registration charges would be an additional burden on the middle class people, who wanted to buy the lands for housing purpose.
Pointing out that the government had already increased the charges in August 2007, Mr Narayana said the party would organise an agitation, if the government did not withdraw the decision.
