Court issues fresh warrant against underworld don, associate

New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) A local court today issued fresh production warrant against underworld don Babloo Srivastava and his associate Fazl-ur-Rahman in a MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) case.

It is alleged that Rahman, a native of Darbangha in Bihar has been named in numerous criminal cases in the capital pertaining to extortion, attempt to murder and kidnapping.

Rahman was arrested in August 2006 at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The Delhi Police, on January 21, filed a chargesheet in a special court against Srivastava and his associate Rahman in the MCOCA case.

It is alleged that both Babloo and Rahman have been charged with running an organised crime syndicate.

The Delhi Police, while claiming to have sufficient evidence to prosecute Srivastava and Rahman under the MCOCA, stated that the duo have been involved in more than 14 cases each that includes serious crime like murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, dacoity, robbery under the TADA and Arms Act, among others, in different parts of India, including Delhi.

Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur asked the police to produce Babloo Srivastava and Rahman, allegedly involved in running an extortion racket in capital, on February 29.
