Indian connections with the Oscar awards

New Delhi, Jan 26, 2008: India may have failed to make it as the official entry for this year's Oscars, nevertheless the 80th Annual Academy Awards does have a couple of Indian connections.

To start with Indian born Shekhar Kapur's film 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age" has received two nominations in the best actress category and in the best costume category. If this was not enough best actress nominee Julie Christie also has her roots in India.
