Nitish to appeal NRBs of America to vote for Democratic Party
Patna, Jan 28 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said he would appeal the Non Resident Biharis (NRBs) living in the US to vote in favour of the Democratic Party in the Presidential elections of the country.
Expressing his support for the Democratic Party in American Presidential election, Mr Kumar told newspersons here that he and former External Affairs Minister Digvijay Singh had received invitations from the campaign managers of Hillary Clinton to campaign in the Presidential elections.
Mr Kumar said he would make an appeal to the Biharis settled in the USA to vote for Democratic Party and hoped that his appeal would generate an impact among the NRBs. He said it would be difficult for him to visit the US, however, he would campaign thorough the internet which was the best suitable and an effective alternative for campaigning in the era of globalisation.
To a query Mr Kumar said it was the internal affairs of the Democratic Party to decide about its candidate, however, Hillary Clinton, wife of former US president Bill Clinton and Senator Barak Obama were fighting for the Democratic Partys candidate.
He said New York and New Jersey have a sizeable population on Indians, majority of whom belong to Bihar who can play a decisive role in US Presidential elections.
