Haryana Reform Commission constituted for better administration

Chandigarh, Jan 28 (UNI) The Haryana Government has constituted Haryana State Administrative Reform Commission to examine various aspects of the administrative structure and processes in the state so as to make these effective and responsive.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the term and reference of the Commission would be to recommend appropriate changes in the organizational structure and methods of operations of the departments in the state, towards promoting efficiency, economy, transparency and responsiveness in the overall services.

He said that the Commission would also recommend ways of creating an environment where Government functionaries could respond to the people with courtesy and a spirit of understanding and helpfulness. It would also recommend ways of promoting ethics in governance to bring about greater transparency and honesty in public dealing of government functionaries.

He said that measures for more effective monitoring and evaluation systems relating to both personnel programmes and appropriate initiatives for greater de-centralisation of powers towards speedier resolution of administrative issues and for better coordination would be recommended by the Commission. It would also suggest ways of promoting greater spread of e-governance in all departments and at all levels.

He said that the Commission had directed all the heads of the departments to send their views regarding any structural and procedural reforms required in the concerned department alongwith required changes in the Acts or Rules to the Commission within a month. It had also directed them to provide a checklist of public services provided by the concerned Departmenst, Boards or Corporation.
