Counterfeit currency racket busted, two held
Hoshangabad, MP, Jan 28 (UNI) A counterfeit currency racket was busted with the arrest of two people and seizure of about Rs one lakh fake notes at Mandikhoh village in this district, police said.
Nilesh Sarkar and Pradeep Bairagi were arrested. Fake notes of Rs 95,800 were seized from them.
Itarsi Sub-Divisional Officer of Police D P S Rajpur said the due used to live in Bangladeshi refugee camp at Phoolbadia village in Betul district.
He said police had received a tip-off that some people were taking Rs 10,000 and providing fake notes of Rs 40,000 in exchange.
Police were searching for other accomplices.
