Congress set up in poll-bound states to be reshuffled
New Delhi, Jan 28 (UNI) The organisational apparatus of the Congress at the Centre and states, especially those bound for elections, will be reshuffled 'very shortly', AICC Spokesman Abishek Manu Singhvi told mediapersons here today.
Mr Singhvi said there would be changes of personalities, policies and programmes of the Congress at the state and Central levels.
''A lot of work is going on behind the scene," he said, when asked if the party was planning a reshuffle of its organisational set-up at the Centre and the states in the light of the drubbing at the recent Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
Meanwhile, top party sources said there would be changes in the party's set-up in West Bengal and the election-bound states of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
There were reports that Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi and Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz would take over as the chief of the West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir units of the party respectively.
