Cold wave continues in Punjab, despite rise in night temps
Jalandhar, Jan 28 (UNI) Despite a marginal rise in night temperatures there was no respite from the onging intense cold wave in Punjab with Adampur turning out to be the coldest place in the state.
The temperature at Adampur which was minus 2.3 degrees Celsius on Saturday night rose to 2.4 degrees last night. The night temperature in Amritsar also rose to 3.6 degrees from sub-zero during the last three nights.
The IAF base at Halwara recorded the minimum at 3.6 degrees up from 0.8 degree on Saturday night.
The night temperatures in the Malwa belt also rose, with Bathinda recording 4.4 degrees, while the border town of Pathankot recorded 6.0 degrees.
The met office at Adampur has forecast overcast conditions during the day with fog and haze tomorrow early morning.
