Centre and state striving for welfare of poor
Wanaparthy, Jan 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Transport Kanna Laxminarayana today said the Central and state governments were striving hard for the welfare of poor and redressal of their problems.
Speaking at the 'Bharat Nirman' Public Information campaign here, he said the state government had reduced migration from villages by creating employment under NREGA introduced by the Centre.
Mr Laxminarayana said the state government had taken steps to provide free power to farmers and also scrapped their power tariff to the tune of Rs 1300 crore.
He said the state government had distributed 6.04 lakh acres of land to the poor in four phases.
