Bride turns widow 3 hours after marriage

Tirumala, Jan 28 (UNI) Marital bliss for a 32-year-old man and his 26-year-old wife lasted for exactly three hours as the former died of a massive cardiac arrest soon after their wedding at Tirumala hills here today.

Police said Maheswaran, a native of Chennai tied the knot to his lover Renuka, with the blessings of their family elders at Ahobilam mutt here between 0600 hrs and 0700 hrs. The couple had a darshan of Lord Venkateswara, when he collapsed around 1000 hrs in front of the Tirumala temple.

Maheswaran was rushed to a hospital at Tirumala, where he was declared dead. On hearing about the sudden demise of her husband, Renuka swooned on the spot and was given first aid by the doctors.
