Bangladesh bound cattle seized in Assam

cattle
consignment
worth
over
Rs
20
lakh
was
seized
by
the
BSF
in
Indo-Bangladesh
border
in
Assam's
Dhubri
district
yesterday.
BSF
sources
informed
that
the
consignment
of
114
cattle
was
from
Haryana
and
was
being
smuggled
into
Bangladesh.
The
cattle
were
worth
over
Rs
20
lakh
in
value,
the
sources
added.
Cattle smuggling through the porous international border in Dhubri has been among the problems the BSF combats in the border, besides its task of checking infiltration. More than 6,000 cattle, worth over Rs 8.17 crore, were seized from the sector by BSF last year.
