Work apace on 3 operation theatres in Gousia hospital in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 26 (UNI) Work is apace on three operation theatres at Government Gousia Hospital, Khanyar at a cost of Rs 20 lakh, which is expected to be completed shortly.

This was stated by Director, Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Muzaffar Ahmad while reviewing progress of renovation work in the hospital last evening.

He directed the agency concerned to complete the renovation work on priority.

Later, chairing a meeting of doctors of various units, the Director said better medicare facilities were available in the hospital, besides Laparoscopic, bone and joint surgeries and round the clock delivery and other health cover facilities would be made available to the people.

He said the hospital would have centrally heating system. He asked the agency concerned to speed up work to ensure its completion within 15 days.

The meeting was informed that 75,500 people have been treated during the past nine months in the hospital, while 353 major and minor operations conducted.

About 6,000 laboratory tests conducted while X-Ray, ECG and USG facility has been made available to 4,342 patients. Over 5,700 dental cases have been treated and 9,200 eye operations performed besides 3,500 bio-chemistry tests done.
