Notorious criminal done to death Gulbarga

Gulbarga Jan 26(UNI) A notorious criminal involved in a number of murders, extortion and robberies operating in both Karnataka and Maharashtra border in the district was done to death in an attack by a rival gang here today.

According to Police, the deceased Shivananda Pundalika Girigi (35) and his brother Vittal (40) were attacked by their rival gang led by Annaveerappa from Bidar, in their village Gola (B) in Aland taluk in the district this morning.

The assailants who had a running feud with the deceased Shivananda and his brother had attacked and fled from the scene after inflicting serious injuries. While Shivanand was succumbed to deaths due to injuries on the spot his brother was admitted to Government General Hospital in Gulbarga.

A special police team has been formed to nab the culprits, the sources added.

The deceased Shivanand had involved in various crimes and wanted by both the police of Maharashtra and Karnataka the sources said.
