Haryana will implement 6th Pay Commission Report: Minister

Rohtak, Jan 26 (UNI) Haryana will be the first state in the country to implement the report of the Sixth Pay Commission, soon after its receipt.

This assurance was given by state Finance Minister Birender Singh while speaking at the Republic Day celebrations here today after unfurling the tricolour.

Mr Birender Singh said that the present government has not only withdrawn ban on filling up of vacancies, but had also provided employment to about 20,000 youth during last about 34 months. A target has been fixed to provide jobs to more than one lakh youth in next two years, he added.

He said that it was a matter of great pride that Haryana was ahead of many other states in financial management. The state ranked at number two after Goa in per capita income, he added.

He said that the government had provided a relief of more than Rs 800 crore to marginal farmers, small shopkeepers and crafts persons under a new scheme. He said that there were several persons in the state who were unable to pay back the loans of Cooperative Banks due to high rate of interest, therefore, the government introduced this new relief scheme.
