Cold wave returns, minimum temp falls to 4.1 degrees C
New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) The severe cold wave sweeping Delhi since early this week, which had seemed to abate yesterday with the mercury rising to 5.6 degrees Celsius, today returned as the temperature plunged by one and a half degrees.
Though a cloud cover over the skyline led to a rise in the minimum temperature, from 2.4 degrees Celsius to 5.6 degrees C, (two degrees below normal), it fell back to 4.1 (four below normal) The maximum temperature also fell from 20.3 degrees C to 17.8, four degrees below normal.
Visibility levels remained more or less normal today.
The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with some shallow mist in the morning.
The minimum temperature is likely to be around three degrees Celsius.
