Sydney, Jan 26 : It seem that Sydney women don't really care about the money they splurge on hair care, for a study has found that an average woman from the city spends up to 124,707 dollars on grooming the locks. Salons, straightening irons, brushes and styling products all contribute to the cost.
Haircare company Tresemme, which conducted the research, said women devote an hour and 53 minutes every week to washing, blow drying and styling or four days a year.
Women pay salons more than 100 dollars for a shampoo, style cut and blow-dry, and at least another 100 dollars for colour, streaks and foils.
"I'd say those figures were conservative, the serious fashionista would spend well over $100,000 on her hair alone in her lifetime," The Daily Telegraph quoted Sandra Campitelli, hairdressing and beauty industry Association general manager, as saying.
