Active participation of all sections is must:Jakhar
Bhopal, Jan 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar today stressed on the need for active participation from all sections of society in the implementation of welfare-oriented schemes.
Addressing a public meeting at the Lal Parade Ground here on the occasion of 58th anniversary of Indian Republic after unfurling the national flag, Dr Jakhar exhorted people to work untidily for the prosperity of the state.
Dr Jakhar extended greetings of Republic Day to citizens and urged them to recall with reverence Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and other great people who laid down their lives for the country's freedom as well as those who worked for its reconstruction, as per an official release.
''Madhya Pradesh is touching new heights of progress and development by moving shoulder to shoulder with the country as well as the world. Today, Madhya Pradesh is known as the fastest progressing state in the country,'' he claimed, adding that development was being carried out by maintaining balance between physical infrastructure and social development.
He said equal attention was being given to agriculture and industry. The government was making concerted efforts to overcome power crisis.
The Governor said Madhya Pradesh has remained in the forefront of implementation of rural development scheme during the past four years. Madhya Pradesh has done commendable work in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana and Rozgar Guarantee Scheme.
